Top 5 best players in the world at the moment (August 2023)

The 2023-24 season has begun in Europe and other regions of the world. Some players have brought their pre-season form into the regular campaign quite easily, while many others may have struggled to do the same. Without further ado, let's list together the Top 5 best performing players in the world at the moment (August 2023).

1/ Lionel Messi (Inter Miami)

The arrival of Lionel Messi was clearly supposed to transform Inter Miami but few expected him to have such a quick impact on them. The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner made his debut for Inter Miami on July 22 in the club's first game in the Leagues Cup. They have won all six of the tournament since then and made it to the final, when they met Nashville.

Messi has scored in those 7 matches. The superstar has scored 10 goals and provided 1 assist in 7 appearances so far. Inter Miami has become a completely different team since Messi's arrival. They have scored 22 goals in 7 matches, while conceding only 8 goals.

2/ Cristiano Ronaldo (Al-Nassr)

Cristiano Ronaldo just refused to bow quietly. He's 38 now and there's no reason to dig it up and make headlines, but that's just what Ronaldo does. He has created an illustrious career by defying difficulties and delivering results beyond expectations.

Al-Nassr took 1st place at the recently concluded Arab Club Championship and Ronaldo was their standout player in the tournament. He scored 6 goals in 6 appearances and won the Golden Boot at the tournament held from July 27 to August 12.

3/ Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

The most important aspect of Erling Haaland's play seems to be that even if the star doesn't have much of an impact on the game, he still finds a way to score. This is true of Haaland's performance in Manchester City's 2023-24 Premier League opener.

The Norwegian striker, who won the European Golden Shoe last season, scored a brace in City's Premier League opener against Burnley. It looks like the 23-year-old will have another rewarding campaign on the scoring front.

4/ Robert Taylor (Inter Miami)

Lionel Messi's newest teammate is a Finnish footballer who played in Norway's top division just a few years ago. Messi's arrival not only changed the fortunes of Inter Miami but also helped bring out the best for some of the superstar's teammates.

Taylor has been shining since side by side with Messi. The Finland international has scored 4 goals and provided 4 assists in his last 5 appearances for the MLS club. A relatively unknown player until July, Taylor is currently considered one of the emerging stars of MLS 2023.

5/ Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)

Joining Real Madrid in a deal worth 103 million euros this summer, Jude Bellingham is clearly the player Real Madrid has high hopes for. The British star has left Los Blancos with no reason to worry about their investment so far. He made a strong impression every time he played for the club. After impressing in pre-season, Bellingham made his dream debut for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

In his first official game for Real Madrid, Bellingham played as No. 10. He coordinated well with Vinicius Junior and the attacker's slick dribbles in the middle of the field proved very effective. fruit. Bellingham also scored a goal to help Real Madrid win their first match in La Liga 2023-24 against Athletic Bilbao with a score of 2-0.
